Clint Clifton and Colby Garman recall the founding days of the Praetorian Project in this clip from 2022.
When you meet a church planter’s wife, you meet a woman who has faced trials, setbacks, and discouragements with grace, kindness, and a quiet trust in the Lord’s plan. In the Praetorian Project, we want to honor these women who pour out so much and give of themselves in ways that the world often overlooks. These women and their husbands are planting churches in military communities all across the globe, caring for military families, and shouldering their burdens alongside them.
What’s coming in 2026 for the Praetorian Project? In this update, Brian O’Day shares upcoming church anniversaries, a new church plant planned for Northwest Washington, pastoral gatherings, and continued training in expository preaching—all aimed at advancing the gospel among military communities worldwide. Please pray with us as we look to the year ahead.
God is on the move in the Pacific Northwest! Pastor Daniel Carter from Pillar Church of San Diego shares exciting news about the upcoming launch of a new Pillar Church in Northwest Washington, near Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Daniel and his family have been led and called by the Lord to initiate this work and form a core team to make it happen! This new church will reach one of the least-churched regions in the country with the hope of the gospel — especially among the military community.
Through the ups and downs of living as a Marine military family, Andrew and Carrie found support and spiritual strength in their church family. Being members of multiple Praetorian Project churches as they moved from base to base, facing deployments and separation even as they were expecting a baby and evacuating from a hurricane; this family’s testimony shows the impact of the ministry of the Praetorian Project.
Hear the story of a young mother and her experience with finding community while balancing the stressors of military life and deployments of her husband. Brielle wants to thank all of the supporters of the Praetorian Project for being a part of making gospel communities wherever the military service may take her family next.
Meet Justin and Katie. Justin is an Active-duty Army Chief Warrant Officer and worship leader at Pillar Church of Killeen, and Katie serves on the AV team. Pastor John shares how the Lord has grown a small group of 15 members into a community dedicated to knowing Jesus and making Him known. He opens up about the beauty of a congregation learning to “suffer well” together through cancer, loss, and hardship, and the joy of seeing new believers baptized into the family of God.
Six months in, what’s going on at Pillar Church of Killeen? In this update, Pastors John Turner and Jerimiah Walker share how the Lord has been at work since launching on August 17, 2025. Meeting in a local hotel has opened unexpected doors to minister to staff and guests. Located with easy access to Fort Hood, the church continues to reach and serve military families and the surrounding community.
Pastor Cody from Pillar Church of Woodlawn (name changing to Pillar Church of Mt. Vernon!) shares an update on what God is doing just outside Washington, DC—where military life brings constant pressure, rapid transition, and unique gospel opportunities. Planted to serve soldiers and their families at Fort Belvoir, this church is seeing deep community, new believers coming to Christ, growing partnerships with the USO, and a renewed focus on identity rooted in the gospel rather than the military.

A bumper video to show before praying with your church for the Praetorian Project around Independence Day (4th of July).
